Description:
Plants to 1-4 dm tall, often with many branches from base. Leaves
1,5-6 cm long, finely divided into linear segments, hirsute, glandular.
Peduncles 2-6 cm long; involucres 4-6 mm long; phyllaries lanceolate, center
green, edges straw-colored, hirsute, margins hyaline, apices acute. Ray corollas
white; disk corollas yellow. Achenes ca. 1.5 mm long, with ca. 10 ribs, minutely
tuberculate. Flowers Jun-Oct
Distribution:
Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa and Santa Catalina islands; Cedros Island;
throughout North America; native of Europe.

1995(1) Rare; not seen recently; disturbed sites near marsh; 5-10 ft (2-3 m). North side at Pelican Bay and Prisoners’ Harbor. First collected at Prisoners’ Harbor in June 1930. |
