Description:
Perennial herbs, 0.5-1.5 m tall. Leaves 5-30 cm long, twice pinnately compound; leaflets lanceolate to more or less orbicular, 2-13 cm long, lobed to toothed; petioles 0.5-3 cm long. Fruit 1.5-2 mm long, glabrous, ribs slightly winged. Flowers May-Jun.


Distribution:
Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, San Nicolas, and San Clemente islands; Cedros Island; throughout much of North America; native of Europe.

 

Santa Cruz Island

Scarce; in marshes and along creeks; 10-50 ft (3-15 m). North side at Prisoners’ Harbor; s side at Valley Anchorage.  First collected in May 1962.
