Description:
Plants 2.5-6 dm tall. Leaf blades 2-5 mm wide. Glumes 17-28 mm long;
florets usually 2; lemmas 11-17 mm long, pubescent throughout, trichomes reddish
brown, awns bent, 22-40 mm long, apical teeth setaceous, 2-5 mm long. Flowers
Mar-Jun.
Distribution:
All California Channel islands; Los Coronados, Todos Santos,
Guadalupe, and Cedros islands; throughout western North America; native of
Europe.

1995(1) Abundant; disturbed sites, rocky slopes, ravines; coastal scrub, grasslands; 10-2470 ft (3-755 m). Scattered locations throughout island. First collected (without specific locality) in March 1925. |
