Description:
Plants 3-8 dm tall. Leaf blades 2.5-7 mm wide. Glumes 18-25 mm long;
florets usually 3-4; lemmas 15-20 mm long, pubescent below middle, trichomes
reddish brown, glabrous above, awns bent, 22-40 mm long, apical teeth acute,
0.5-1 mm long. Flowers Apr-Jun.
Distribution:
All California Channel islands; Los Coronados, Todos Santos, San
Martin, Guadalupe, and Cedros islands; throughout western North America; native
of Europe.
